Mechanical Manager

 Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial road and bridge maintenance contractor. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Mechanical Manager at the Corporate Office in Merritt, BC.

As the Mechanical Manager, you will be expected to possess sound planning, organizational skills, strong leadership and motivational skills as well as the ability to maintain effective lines of communication and positive working relationships with Mechanical and Operations Supervisors, staff, customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities and functions of the Mechanical Manager will include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Supervisor for Senior Mechanical Superintendents within Ontario and Mechanical Superintendents in BC and Alberta
  • Assist with the distribution of equipment to maximize utilization and life span.
  • Determine staffing levels and assist in recruitment, training, and retention.
  • Assist in people management functions, such as Performance Management and Disciplinary Action.
  • Provide oversight and support to apprentices and apprenticeship training programs.
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of Policy Process and Procedures
  • Assist in managing and developing the Supply Chain (e.g. Key Client Relationships, Specifying Equipment, Bulk Purchase Agreements).
  • Preparing and monitoring of budget, planning and scheduling work through a preventative maintenance program
  • Reasonable Travel to sites as required and
  • other related duties which will vary and change as the goals and requirements of the industry, the company and the workplace continue to change.

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong mechanical background, with up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Computer literacy skills; preferably expertise in computerized equipment control systems
  • Understanding of Provincial Commercial Regulatory Rules
  • Clear knowledge of Provincial OH&S
  • Experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and safe driving record and
  • Prior experience working within a union environment is an asset.

 

This is a non-union, salaried management position. The salary range will be $105,000 - 115,000.00 annually, depending on experience The successful candidate’s salary and benefits package will be based on experience.
